The Flap Procedure

The flap procedure is a more extreme option and is done in several phases. The procedure is done by surgically removing a flap of hair from areas where hair is growing to areas where it is not. The first two phases of the flap procedure are not evasive, but the third phase is when the actual skin is removed from one part of the scalp and put into another. When the flap procedure is completed you can grow their hair naturally in areas that there was no hair growth before. When performed in the proper way this type of procedure can be very effective. Much like any type of procedure you should research their options. This procedure is more radical and therefore men will need to be bandaged up for a few weeks. But once you remove the bandages you will see a new head of hair. Men may have new hairlines after the procedure because scaring may happen at both the locations where the skin was removed and placed.

Scalp Reduction Procedure

In a scalp reduction procedure the bald areas of a man’s scalp are removed by surgery. The tissue that grows hair is pulled over the balding areas. This type of procedure is usually done in conjunction with a flap procedure, however this is not always the case. If you pick this option it is the most serious option in terms of the surgery. This option requires the consultation of a reputable surgeon. If a scalp reduction procedure is not done in the correct way there can be scars that are permanent in the areas that the skin was stretched back.
